Can someone possibly sort this PSA POP Report to total up the amount of Blank Back graded vs the total amount of Sporting News Backs graded?

It's pretty even-steven, Ray. I came up with 1,396 of the 2,888 with NQ are blank backs.

You may be able to do it technically, but it would provide false and wholly unreliable conclusions because until recently, PSA lumped them both together, along with some others that had different advertising backs. The fact that you might see some entries for a player with "blank Back" notation does not mean the 12 other examples listed for him without such notation are all with Sporting News backs. IOW, a player with a certain number graded "blank backs" has at least that many with blanks but does not mean the others graded for that player without the notation do not also include a large number of blanks.

Todd - So not much we can glean from the percentages of Sporting News Ad Back vs Blank Backs from the existing POP Reports of PSA & SGC?
The only interesting info I can infer from the reports is the comparison of this total number to the totals of other graded Ad Backs (the rarer ones).
I'm down a rat hole at the moment.

Sorry Ray, the pop reports are not very helpful for your purposes. I trust (mostly) that the numbers for cards identified as blank backs are accurate, but if you see a player that has 15 blank backs and 15 others non-designated, you can rest assured that some and maybe most of the latter are also blank-backs. The grading companies were just too late in making the distinction for us to know how many are just good old Sporting News backs.
