Default Vintage Trade Thread

We haven't tried a vintage trade thread in a while, so why not?

If even one trade is made, it's a win. If none are made, at least we tried .

I have this very nice T206 Matty up for trade. Prefer a type card I don't have.
thanks and good luck!

Update- this card is in the Brockelman Auction currently..

It's a great idea, and I have made a few great trades on this forum, but I only dabble in raw, ungraded, unslabbed cards.

Default Trade Material

Have a few T206 cards for trade.

If there are bigger cards involved, I would possibly consider trading a T206 Matty portrait SGC1 and a few others.

Would be interested in: T206 HOF portraits, 1956 Topps HOF, E227 Track or M116 HOF in blue background.

Specific cards I am looking for:
M116 Eddie Collins Blue Background
M116 Mathewson Blue Background
T206 Walter Johnson Portrait
T206 Mathewson Dark Cap polar bear back
1956 Topps Koufax, Aaron, Mays, Clemente, Spahn

I'm willing to trade these somewhat rare back Chase cards. I'm mostly looking for a T206 Lajoie portrait. But I'm open to discussing anything interesting (up through the 1980s).

Default Vintage trade opinion

My local card shop, who is very nice, offered a very nice PSA 5 -1952 Bowman Mantle that is well centered and has nice print clarity, plus $6000, for my complete 1968 topps set that has 65 graded cards. Here are a few of the graded players.

psa 9- Gibson, Brock, Maris, Killebrew, Hunter, Cepeda and Flood.
psa 8.5- Drysdale and F. Robinson.
psa 8- Mantle, Aaron, Clemente, Rose, Kaline, Banks, Yastrzemski, Perez, R. Allen, Carlton, Morgan, Mathews, Palmer, Jenkins, Clemente AS, Aaron AS and Stargell.
psa 7.5 Seaver and Bench
psa 7 - Carew
psa 6 -a very nice Ryan.
I'm sure it may be difficult to be completely accurate in your assessment but any opinions on this trade proposal would be much appreciated. Card shop owner is far more experienced trading than I so naturally I think he is getting the better deal. Thanks in advance

I made a nice trade with Val yesterday at the vintage get together. A Holland Creamery for a D381 with tab. Trading is great as long as both parties come to the table with something the other wants.

Trading is how I was able to put together a decent quality 1953 Bowman color & b/w complete set. I daresay it wouldn't have happened any other way given the cost.

Leon, thanks again for this trade, which gave me a much nicer looking 1925 Holland Creameries card of Sam Rice than I already had in my collection.

Thanks to Joe T. (of Goldin Auctions), I was able to do another trade at Saturday's Net54 vintage collectors get together in which I acquired a much nicer looking T222 Fatima card of WaJo than I already had in my collection.

The T222 Johnson is a classic of the genre, do you have a scan/pic?

Even though I would prefer a sale, the right trade would be ok too....

Peter, I had to take a photo of my new T222 of WaJo, because my Epson scanner has quit working with my Windows 11 PC; a camera doesn't work well with a slabbed card for me. I've had this raw T222 for many years, and over time, the missing upper right corner has bothered me more and more.

psa 6 -a very nice Ryan.
I'm sure it may be difficult to be completely accurate in your assessment but any opinions on this trade proposal would be much appreciated. Card shop owner is far more experienced trading than I so naturally I think he is getting the better deal. Thanks in advance
No way would I trade a complete 68 set plus cash for a single 52 Bowman Mantle card, no matter how perfect it is. Perhaps a 52 Topps, but that's not happening either unless it's low grade. And even then I wouldn't do it, not for 1 card that I personally don't care for.

A quick eBay search shows PSA 5 1952 Bowman Mantles have sold for around $5500 recently so along with $6000 cash, he's offering you around $11,500 in value. I don't know what your 1968 Topps set with the graded cards you have is worth. You would have to do some work to figure that out (if you already haven't). If you think that would be a fair value for it and prefer to have the 1952 Bowman Mantle instead of the 1968 Topps set, make the trade.

Here are four Sport card wrappers that I can offer in exchange for other wrappers:

1959

1960

1959

And here's my own Topps Baseball Wrapper Most Wanted List:

1954
1955
1956
1957 five-cents
1958 one-cent
1959 five-cents
1960 repeating one-cent
1961 one-cent
1962 one-cent
1964
1965 one-cent

I'm also interested in any variant 1958, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1963 and 1965 five-cent wrappers that I don't already have. I'm also more than willing to consider offers of various Non-Sports wrappers. Or even insert cards, e.g. "Lucky Penny" and various other contest or Bazooka special offers.

I have a 1952 topps hi #326 George Shuba of the Dodgers.
I am looking to trade for 1952 topps in vg/ex type condition.
I need a lot of low numbers as well as highs. I am happy to send a list and prefer raw, but would consider graded.
Shuba is known for being the first teammate to shake Jackie’s hand.
(The scratch on bottom left is on the case, not the card)
