Default Cuban Giants

I picked up this real photo postcard today. It was in an album filled with postcards from/related to Livonia NY which is located in western NY. All the postcards were from the early part of the 1900s. The back of this postcard dates it to the 1904-1918 time frame. Since the Cuban Giants disbanded in 1915, this postcard must date to the 1904-1915 time period. That's where my knowledge base ends. Is there anyone out there that can give me any other information relating to the players/value, etc. Thanks.

Gary:

Are you able to provide a higher resolution image of the player faces?

Yes, hopefully we can get a better/closer picture of the faces.

Middleman, 6th guy from the left, Chase Lyons maybe?

Is "Jiants" the Cuban version of "Giants"...even though the uniforms say "Giants"??

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

I thought that was funny. The photographer might have been spelling challenged.

>> 1910, apparently.

I think 1909, September 28 was a Wednesday in 1910, but a Tuesday in 1909. Assuming the program in Hakes is for the same visit.

Titles on real photo postcards were hand-written into the negative -- carved into the emulsion, really -- which meant the photographer had to write them backwards. So you see weird wrong letters sometimes. Though I've never seen a G -> J.

Great postcard!

Great detective work, Jim. Unfortunately, I don’t recognize anyone significant there but an awesome postcard nonetheless.

Great pick-up, Gary!

Based on information sent to me, it appears Livonia played the Cuban Giants multiple years between 1909 and 1912. Newspapers.com has summaries and box scores of the games. Here is a scan of the Livonia team the Giants played.
