Today is the 50th anniversary of Nolan Ryan's 2nd career no-hitter- his best!
In celebration of HOF Nolan Ryan's 2nd no-hitter on 7/15/73, here are a few cool things related to that game that I own in my collection.
17 K's and a fastball that it was so fast that it tore the pocket of catcher Art Kusnyer's glove in the early innings and forced him to change mitts... Great stuff, Scott!
My favorite thing about this No-Hitter, was that Norm Cash, for his last at bat, attempted to use a table leg, to hit off of Nolan Ryan. Here's the video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Je8tttn017Q Cash, famously said to the home plate umpire, Ron Luciano "But Ron, I've got as much chance with this as I do with a bat."
