Over the past year, I sought out to grab as many Abner Dalrymple OJ's as I could find. Our own Jay Miller got me started and the search began. In the beginning, I was hoping for just one of each pose and then afterwards began to search for any and all Abner Dalrymple variations I could find.
Here is my progress. I currently have 10 different "variations", with one duplicate, to total 11 of Abner. The 2 old SGC labels and the PSA are getting updated to new SGC here very soon. Big thanks to Jay Miller for the start, Joe Gonsowski for the helps with explanations on variations and all those who have contributed to my search. Obviously, I am looking for any and all Abner Dalrymple related OJ, Cabinets or items. |

Great looking cards and project. Good luck in the hunt. The hunt can be a lot of the fun in collecting!

That's a very nice run. I have these 2, which it looks like you already have. It's astonishing to me how fast some of the members can throw something together in a year that would take me decades.

Great run Brian, Abner would be proud!
You managed to piece together all his long numbered "type B" cards which is an accomplishment. I especially like your duplicate of B-0232-B in which the OJ Cigs advert is positioned differently. I see you refer to the variation as B-0232-C but they are both B-0232-B. (type B have the script print at bottom with "OLD JUDGE Cigarettes" in photo area, there are no type C cards). Of the variations you still need the Type A leading zero cards should surface first. The lone Fa (1888 re-issue), Es (Gypsy Queen), and G (Cabinet) will likely keep you searching for a while (years). Actually you marked the "G" in blue, do you have the cabinet? Good luck in your continued search, keep us posted on progress, especially when something new (uncatalogued) surfaces ![]() .
