Default Hofstra show

Visited the Hofstra show today with my son. Good mix of modern and vintage, and lots of autos. We arrived around 1 due to traffic. Crowd was light the entire time. A few observations.
A gentleman was trying very hard to do a trade (vintage for vintage), but pricing just didn't meet up. He was very vocal about the dealer pricing things too high.
One of the auction houses (name escapes me), had a few showcases full of graded vintage cards for direct sale with a sign saying 40% off all Topps and Bowman. It was surprising, and honestly caught me off guard. But its clear the market has come down across the board for many cards since the pandemic highs. But some dealers are not willing to lower their prices to current levels and would rather hold while others will prefer to take what they can get and move on perhaps?
My favorite items of the show:
1949 Leaf Jackie Robinson PSA 5 with gorgeous color
1933 Goudey Gehrig with a signature (priced at 250k)
A first day issue Babe Ruth envelope with a PSA 9 signature

I wasn't at the show, but my guess for the dealer mentioned above with pricing indicating 40% Topps and Bowman cards is Clean Sweep Auctions. That's the offer they always have on their Topps and Bowman cards.

I wonder how dealer sales were on vintage?

And even with their "40% off" Clean Sweep's prices are still usually a little higher than the rest of the market. That being said, it's possible to find a bargain here and there from Clean Sweeps' non-auction catalogue.

Gotcha. So that wasn’t anything new.
