Gonsolin has an absurd career winning percentage of .813
Whitey Ford's career winning percentage was .6901

If Gonsolin had only started more games this year, he would likely be near the top of the CY Young conversation, as he is 16-1 with a 2.10 ERA and a WHIP of .865

Compare that to the current NL CY Young favorite Carlos Rodin who is 13-8 with a 2.84 ERA and a WHIP of 1.038 (although he does lead in FIP at 2.26).
But Rodin has pitched 167.2 innings, and Gonsolin only 128.1

Alcantrana seems to be fading down the stretch, but is still in the hunt.

Given it's the Dodgers, they will return TG to the pen for long relief next season and sign a named FA this off season.

16-1 is a rare accomplishment indeed, but compared to Roy Face in 1959, it isn’t even close.

Roy never started a game, relieved in 57 games and won nearly 1/3 of them.
He pitched 93 innings pitched that year and posted an 18-1 record on a Pirate team that was 78-76. Understandably he had only 10 saves and in ten of his games he didn’t finish the game.

I suspect that the 1959 Pirates were tied in the late innings more than an other team in history.

Who has won the most games in 93 innings in a season if you exclude Face???

John Hiller won 17 games as a relief pitcher in 1971, but he also pitched in 150 innings that year.

Looking for the second most wins by a 93 inning pitcher in a year. Nice try though.

Bill Campbell racked up a ton of wins in relief for the Red Sox in the 70's. Don't remember how many but 15 or 17 or something, might have been over on innings though.

Yeah, Campbell had as many innings as most starters nowadays.
