At the risk of going out on a limb and sounding foolish, I thought I would risk a couple of predictions that will directly or indirectly impact the card world next year.
1. An increased number of new Covid Omicron infections will drive people indoors again with lots of available time and money. Cards at all levels will continue hot as investors fear a turbulent stock market. 2. The lockout will continue, throwing the whole 2022 season in peril. Perhaps fans will blame the owners more than the players but everybody is going to be pissed. Pre-War cards might get a boost from this mess. 3. The competition among AH's for quality consignments from new and existing customers is going to seriously heat-up as consignor's shop around to get the most favorable terms with their large collections. And a pox on those AH's that still charge a consignment fee and get a buyer's commission (damn double dippers (unintended alliteration). 4.PWCC goes public. SEC investigates. Don't worry. I'm invariably wrong. |
