Default Most Reputable Autograph Authenticators for Vintage Baseball

Other than the big names (PSA, SGC, JSA), what other companies have a good reputation as authenticators for vintage autographs? Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

I don’t think SGC does autos anymore. Beckett is Ok with baseball but sucks at Historical. You really just have JSA and PSA. Maybe John Reznikoff would be good to look at it, he may be doing his own thing lately

I'd trust the forum here on the autograph side more than any TPA in the marketplace .
Try here first unless you're doing it for resale and need the slab.

I agree the TPA’s if you are trying to flip it/ sell it for potentially bigger profit.
If you are a a collector and just want to ensure the autograph is good then the board is the source

Mike Root of CAS. I doubt anyone is perfect but I have little reason to doubt how good he is. We use him for at LEAST the first opinion of everything in our auction. If there is a financial reason to use one of the big companies we do so after we gt his stamp of approval.

As another poster mentioned, SGC doesn’t do autographs anymore; they stopped after they got lit up in the fake signed T206 scandal a couple years ago.

I know this post was about vintage, but Mike Root lost a lot of cred with me in this thread:

I agree with the above about the expertise on this forum. If I could get my items directly in front of Kevin Keating or Bill Corcoran, awesome. Otherwise, I'd trust this forum over any of the faceless entities.
