Default What's the point of auctions in "preview mode"?

What's the point of auctions in "preview mode"? It is not like those auctions only run for 24hrs, people have 2-3 wks to browse/bid on them. In fact preview mode just turn me off since I can only place items that I am interested in in "watchlist" rather than actually putting bids on them.

It is amazing to see Jordan and Kobe related items almost take up one-third of 2600 items auction.

Actually I like it.
With so many auctions go on at same time or overlapping it allows me to see what is out there for auction so I can prioritize what I want based on my resources.
Many times I have won a card I like only to lose out on a potentially better card I wanted because I did not know what was out there

Just a matter of preference.

We run a "Live" preview mode for the first 4 days of our auctions. You can bid, but we are still adding lots, images, fixing typos etc. Then our completed auction runs 14 days.

We may well get to a point where that 4 days isn't necessary, but we'll likely keep it as a "just in case"

If it is not encapsulated, no one would want it.

Do you have a "additions after start of preview section"? I would not want to be a consigner of items added after preview/bidding starts.

They're often "Still under construction mode," and allow people to point out errors and details before the auction starts.

Obviously consignors have approved having their cards added late before we do it. I would think any company that does late additions has permission. You do realize that contracts are signed for these things right?

And if there is a nit to pick, collectors will pick it.
