I was looking at the back of a large clipping of Highlander Russell Ford from the Police Gazette in 1912 and there is an interesting ad for the Sporting News Cabinets (top of image)
Apparently in 1912 there was also a severe outbreak of VD (not Valentines Day)...and whatever "Gleet" is, I don't want it! ![]() Last edited by Leon; 02-10-2021 at 08:49 AM. |

I guess with "The Old Reliable" around it wasn't a big deal.
Thanks for the magnified picture Leon! |

New York Dog Exchange is interesting. Dogs shipped anywhere in the world. I wonder how that worked out.
I realize today you can ship live animals, but 100 years ago? Sounds like a real crap shoot to me. |

Man. Must have been a *lot* of gonorrhea going around, judging by the number of purveyors.

The ad is for Sporting News not Sporting Life, so they were not offering W600's. It states them as 8" x 10" photogravure I am guessing M101-2's....
