Default Didja ever notice...

That even though every other name in the huge 1967 set appears in either black or white, Topps decided to print Dave Wickersham and Johnny 'Blue (Cherry?) Moon' Odom's names in red...

1967wickersham112odom282.jpg

Or how someone apparently hated former Seattle Pilots manager Joe Schultz so much, that they refused to even acknowledge his name on the front of Billy Martin's 1973 card...

1973billymartin323.jpg

Or that the art department was so utterly disoriented in 1962, that they dropped a vertical photo into the horizontal layout of the 'Midway Masters' card...

If you know of any other lesser known, and not endlessly discussed (For the love of God, DO NOT show the 1965 Topps #134 Mickey Mantle World Series card where he's actually missing the pitch!!!!!!!!!) uncorrected printing anomalies that come to mind, show 'em...

Spelling "Yastrzemski" correctly without needing to look it up since the 1980s.

Overpaying yesterday is simply underpaying tomorrow.

Default Here's one

If I remember correctly, the 67 Topps Milt Pappas is the only card in that set that doesn't have a facsimile signature on it...

The 74 Houk manager card has no staff shown, like the others did.

I think the whole 1967 Topps first series has no dot between the players name and position... the rest of the set does have the dot between name and position.

It's funny you bring up Ralph Houk (and the lack of coaches is a very cool detail), because he looks completely out of place, basically appearing in Yankees pinstripes with a Tigers' 'D' airbrushed onto his hat...

...but that's nothing compared to the man he replaced in Detroit, Billy Martin, who moved to the Rangers (and took Fowler and Silvera with him). His picture is from the very same photoshoot as his 1973 Tigers card (it was obviously snapped only moments before or after that one, with the backgrounds containing the very same players/elements), with a god-awful hat retouching job ("Quick!! Somebody get me more blue paint!!!")...
