This seems to be a great place to ask for help. Take a look at the first Henry Chadwick autograph and please tell me what you think. I haven't seen it up close and don't have a ton more info on it. I do have an opinion on it, but don't want to influence any responses.
For what it's worth, the second signature has been authenticated by PSA. Thank you in advance. Jim |

Im not a handwriting specialist but by looking at the last name, every letter seems to be different except the "K". However, I do know my autograph, uhhhh signature changes constantly. Just recently I wanted to move a retirement account from Hong Kong to the US and since my signature didnt "match" to the documents I signed in 2011, I had to drive 9 hours round trip to the closest HSBC so they could witness my signature. So, as to pen flow, pressure, etc, I would have no idea

I was going to say no based on all the other ones I've seen, but then I found this one that sold in 2007 at Robert Edwards Auctions with a JSA cert (take that for whatever it's worth). At first I thought it was the same one, but there's a slight variation...looks pretty darn close.

What kind of medium is it on?
From the photo I wouldn't buy it. |

FWIW in my collection at the same time I had 4 Chadwick autographs of all different types from different eras with differing signature variations but they all had some basic characteristics. They were a :
Business card Cut from legal document Handwritten note Envelope In your posted examples the first ( on the left ) I would not be comfortable with LOA or not . The second one ( the book) is good IMO and an accepted signature variation of Chadwick's. |

I sure appreciate everyone chiming in. A decent amount of my collection is online at CooperstownExpert.com. Chadwick has a page as does every HoFer and about 300 other notable folks. Hope you'll take a look. |
