I have a chance to purchase a sgc 10 BG Home Run Baker. Big Big Money. It is the only one graded. Just wondering what the demand is. Hard to pull the trigger on this one due to cost. 35k plus

Very niche market. About 10 years ago I did a cash/trade deal to acquire a 1914 Tris Speaker BG (had about $24k into it)...I later sold it in Mastro's live auction at the 2008 Nat'l in Chicago...it hammered for around $13k (ouch).
$35k sounds very high for that card, IMO. |

Can't comment on what it is worth now, but if it helps, it sold in 2009 at Heritage for $5377.

Depends on what kind of cash you have available and what you generally collect and enjoy. If you are looking at this as an investment, it is my pinion that I would stay far away from it.
WAAAAAY too many cards you can get at that price point that are just about sure things (as far as investments go) Now if you're just flush with cash and like the card....why not? |

A 1912 or 1913 Boston Garter? Perhaps.
A 1914? Obscenely overpriced for the condition..., Just my two cents. |

Jeff- was a bad beat, but a really fun night hanging with you, Jim B, Nex, etc...that helped soften the blow.
