1949 Leaf Baseball - PSA
Does anyone have any idea why PSA grades 1949 Leaf Baseball cards with a 1948 date?
I sent in a couple of 1949 Leaf cards to be graded. My submission form clearly stated "1949" for these cards, and the back of both cards have "Copyright 1949" printed on them. Yet, I received both cards back with the 1948 date. In searching through eBay, I realized that this is not an error or an isolated incident, it's simply what PSA does. Again, I scratch my head and wonder why. As a side note, I noticed that SCG uses "1948-49" regardless of whether the copyright date is 1948 or 1949, and Beckett uses the (apparently correct) year that corresponds with the copyright date.
