All I gotta say is wow! Congrats to the seller of this one. The prices of photos seem to be going up and up. This is a prime example of that. A 1923 photo of Ruth with his head down for 13 g's. I must be sitting on a gold mine then. Im speechless

Im shocked at the prices in heritage. I dont get it. There was a upclose shot of ruth that only sold for 2k but a out of focus shot of him with his head down sells for 13k. Take in consideration it was after he hit the first homerun in yankee stadium but man..... I wish i was the seller

The 13k photo I bid on but dropped out after like $400 haha. In my opinion, that's nothing close to a 13k photo but hey, more power to everyone!

Never underestimate the power of historical significance to drive up the price of a photo. What you may consider to be a high price for an aesthetically inferior photo, at least two other collectors considered to be the price to be paid for the closest thing possible to actually witnessing a significant event in baseball history. I doubt any Yankee fan there that day treasured the memory of a later game more because Babe happened to look up and smile for the camera

The numbers where strong @ RMY! These numbers remind me of the mid 2000's before the meltdown.

The prices on photos still fluctuate a lot since there is no documented basis like there are with cards with their numerous price guides.
You can look just a couple months apart at any given time and the exact same shot can be hundreds sometimes thousands of dollars difference in selling price.
