Default 1916 Fleischmann Bakery D381 Ty Cobb (and many more) in Goodwin & Co current auction

I am gathering members thoughts (if anyone has any ) on the large group of D381s in the current Goodwin & Co. auction? I think it's the largest grouping I have seen sold at one time (with coupons). There are some spectacular cards being offered. And I would be remiss if I didn't thank Goodwin & Co. for being a valued advertiser too. Good luck to all who are going for these seldom seen little treasures and any of the other great cards in their current auction.

I think they need a few more '52 Mantles too!!

Bill, excellent work as always. I think many type collectors will be happy after the auction as there seems to be enough for everyone. If there are a couple more "finds" then there will be a nice market on them to collect and possible build a set!

Thoughts?...Those Fleischmanns are spectacular, I really want the Joe Wood, and with 21 days remaining I'm pretty sure that dream of mine will be outbid in 2 or 3 of those days

Eh, never been a big fan. I can appreciate the rarity but they resemble cheap newspaper clippings to me.

All the best to Bill, Eric, and Bob to fill some holes. Even though I don't collect D381s, I share in some of the enthusiasm that follows a new find particularly when it helps advance the understanding of the set.

I've never been a fan of B/W sets, with the exception of D381s. I think the closeup shots are just fantastic and filled with personality.

One of my favorite sets, of course there's no Mickey Mantle so that's a downer.

Yes, we'll have to make due with the likes of Cobb, Wags, Matty, Johnson etc.....but alas, no Clemente either!!

Thanks Joe. Quite the find indeed. The Mathewson and Cobb are spectacular. My favorite set of all time!
