I know, you would think by now I would be an expert at Joe D sigs, with all the help you guys have given me.

I saw this one on ebay, and actually passed it over. I then saw it relisted, and ignored it, as the seller had it listed as facsimile. Then, as I was browsing Leon's stuff in the Heritage catalog, I saw the same photo for sale (lot 79532). Except Leon's picture didn't have the second signature. So I went back and sniped it for ridiculously cheap. I got it yesterday, and looked at it under the microscope. It is certainly live ink, but not like my other signatures. I think the photo is really early, so I am guessing it is either 1) totally fake, or 2) an early signature? Any help is always appreciated! Thanks, Sean |

			Hey Sean,

another member had a cocktail napkin that was signed much the same way about a year ago... I was uncomfortable with it simply because I was not familiar with this example... As it turned out it was in fact a real joe d from the 40's |

Thanks Dave! I just found a PSA signature that looks mighty close, from ~1940.

I thought I would post this period Dimaggio signature I have in case it helps. I know the sig is light but maybe it can help. The ball is either 42 or 43 I forget what I found a while back when researching. -peter
