looks like a snapshot photo to me. They often had back stamps like that.

Looks more like a premium or proof to me. The "36" is hand stamped and the way the corners are cropped makes it look like it was tacked or mounted at some point. Never seen it before but very cool.

It's just a snapshot photo...looks like it was prepared for use in a publication or newspaper. Not the Cubs, probably a minor league team.

A snapshot with that kind of work done on the background? That would be unusual. This looks like something I've seen on the board before--maybe Wheaties or Worch? The cutout style looks like some of the Worch items in this thread: http://www.net54baseball.com/showthr...t=worch&page=5 but without the nameplate.
Given the location of the show, I'd say that Columbus Redbirds is a reasonable guess. Bill |

Any photographer in those days could block a negative and make a photo like that...like I said it was most likely used for a publication or the newspaper. Thinking that this is a card or premium of some sort is just wishful thinking IMO.

Speaking of wishful thinking, any chance that could be a 1915 Chicago Whales road uni? The logo looks like it wants to recognize some sort of sea creature, to me anyway.

The Chi Feds logo had an entire whale inside the C or "Feds" inside the C....oddly though it does look like a whale tail inside of the C on Manos's photo.

True, but according to Okkonen's gallery, there is no road uni for the Whales in 1915 depicted. I wondered if that arm logo would be what was used with who knows what if anything on the chest.
