Default WTB 1933 Goudey Lou Gehrig

Well centered with outstanding color and registration, 5 ideal, would consider a very strong 4. Thank you for looking.

I went with this WWG because it has the best centering I've ever seen on the card; same card/image as the Goudey so I went with what hit my eye the best. Sometimes the WWG can be found with awesome centering, so if you love the image and are looking for it to be framed well, the WWG might be another cool avenue to look down.

Matt nice card. I am pretty firm on wanting the Goudey though.

I'd check previous posts on "Battlefield" with regards to their scanner practices before I pulled the trigger on that one ...

Seconded. That same card was returned to 'Battlefield' after selling for $2,600 on Ebay in late August. Someone didn't like the way it looked once it showed up in person...

The threads on Battlefield and Great Lakes Auction House are very revealing and helpful.

Great Lakes and Battlefield are notorious for cracking out cards with eye appeal far exceeding their numeric grade. The difference in obtained prices are HUGE. That has been their operating morandum since day 1.

This was my card. Had a one VERY faint spider wrinkle, only on the front. You had to tilt it in close level lighting to see. Sold for $720. Great Lakes would buy a card like that, crack it out, and sell it to an unsuspecting buyer for $1,500+

Really?

Someone posts a card which obviously has significant issues - as well as info regarding the practices of the seller being questionable -- and you're annoyed that your thread was derailed....?

If it were my thread, my response would be "thank you"...

It was tongue in cheek as indicated by the emoticon. But in truth, the right place for the post was on the main board, not the BST.

Next time you're trying to be clever, try this emoticon.

I bought one from battlefield that came back altered stock. The card was relisted before I even returned it promising to be authentic and unaltered. You're definitely gambling but I would stay away

This surprises me none. They aggressively pursue "AUTHENTIC" cards.
