MEET THE YANKEES , PART III 100) ANGEL "PETE" ARAGON 1922 NEW YORK YANKEES PAYROLL CHECK SIGNED ON THE FRONT BY HALL OF FAMER JACOB RUPPERT AND ENDORSED ON REVERSE BY ARAGON Astonishingly rare autograph ! Measures 3 1/4 x 9. Has JSA sticker on reverse but is well away from the autograph. Check has three vertical creases most likely from when Angel folded the check to put in his pocket. Aragon was the first Cuban born player to play for the Yankees , He played in 1914 and again in 1916-1917. Was a Star player in the early Cuban Leagues. Comes with an unsigned 8x10 photo of Aragon perfect for display. He died in 1952. $1,850.00 101) ENSIGN COTTRELL signed portion of a survey document measures 2x6. Cottrell was an engineer after his baseball career. Note written in his own hand and dated 6/25/1942. Extremely rare ! this item was obtained directly from Cottrell's daughter. He played for the 1915 Yankees and prior to that the 1911 Pirates, 1912 Cubs, 1913 Athletics & 1914 Boston Nationals. One of the few Cottrell signatures known to exist he died in 1947. $1,250.00 102) BABE RUTH Autograph from portion of an album page boldly signed in pencil and perfect for display. Measures 4 1/2 x 1 3/4. The original collector has written the initials "N.Y." to the right of the signature. Originally part of a massive collection of in-person signed autograph album books that I purchased in 1995 from the original collector who obtained all of the autographs in the books as a young boy in-person circa 1930. Offered here is a unique and affordable opportunity to obtain an autograph of a Baseball icon and legend that needs no introduction. And represents the cornerstone of any Hall of Fame autograph collection. $1,950.00 104) DAVID FULTZ Vintage 3x5 signed in fountain pen. Originates from the Dr. Sennett baseball autograph collection. Comes with 2 unsigned 8x10 photos of Fultz. Scarce autograph ! He organized the FIRST baseball union as well as being one of the original "Highlanders" , Fultz played for 1898-99 Philadelphia Nationals, 1899 Brooklyn, 1901-02 Athletics and 1903-05 Highlanders/Yankees. He died in 1959. $450.00 105) ED BARNEY His original Social Security card measures 3 1/4 x 1 3/4. Signed boldly. A fine signature of a tough to find player ! Comes with an unsigned 5x7 photo for display. Played for the 1915 Yankees and the 1915-1916 Pirates. Played for the 1917-1918 Yankees. He died in 1969. $250.00 109) RAY "SLIM" CALDWELL Government postcard postmarked on the reverse 4/26/65. Comes with unsigned 8x10 photo pictured in Yankees uniform for display. Pitcher for the 1910-19 Yankees, 1919 Red Sox, 1919-21 Cleveland. He died in 1967. $150.00 110) ROGER MARIS & MICKEY MANTLE INDIVIDUAL DATE SPECIFIC 1961 AUTOGRAPH ALBUM PAGES Each page measures 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 and were removed from an autograph album book in which all of the signatures were obtained IN-PERSON in 1961. The Vintage Mickey Mantle signed during one of the most illustrious seasons of his career boldly stands alone on the center of the page. The Page signed by Roger Maris is inscribed "To Roberta Best Wishes Always..ROGER MARIS" the signature could easily be matted away from the inscription. While either signature would stand alone the pairing would make for an impressive display. Signed during one of the most legendary seasons in baseball history by the two men that helped to make it so !
