I saw these in a card shop and have tried to do some research. All they told me were they are 1880s cabinet cards. Obviously they are very cool but I am having a hard time learning about them and figuring out what they could be worth. If anyone can help me I'd appreciate it.

IN my experience those kind of photos, generic in nature, are valued purely on their content and quality of the photo. The more neat it is the more it's worth. As a semi educated guess I would put those in the $75-$125 range for the pair. That's just a guess and if there is anything special about them then the value could go up. Really neat, they are and I could see two people fighting over them in auction and that valuation be doubled. It's a bit difficult to give an exact value to unique items.

It kind of looks to me like the borders of the mount have been trimmed off... reducing the value. Leon is correct in that they are worth about 100 for the pair maybe a little more if untrimmed.
