Hello everyone. I recently acquired a 22 card collection of baseball HOF placque cards and non placque cards. I believe them to be the 1939 cards. They are sepia, and there is a about 1.5" blank space below the pictures of the placques on the front of each. I am trying to research these as for scarcity and value. Psa only has 2 that I can tell that have been graded. Any help on this is greatly appreciated, as this is a brand new avenue for me. Thanks as always for all the helpl!!

Dave:
If you have the Standard Catalogue of Baseball Cards (Bob Lemke), you can see the differfences between the Sepia set as compared to the Albertypes and Artvues. If you post scans of the front and back, we can help you better. |

I've been reading on PSA and other places that few of these exist? PSA looks to have graded only 2. Is this true? I can't find many sales results for these. Thank you for your help!

Those are the scarcest variety of the Plaque cards from what I can tell. We have 7 in our upcoming auction. In my searching I found very few of these that have sold. I am sure they aren't super rare by any means but compared to the other HOF plaque type cards they are quite scarce. They are a neat way to collect some Hall of Famers that aren't otherwise able to be collected.

Leon or Stooge, do either of you have the Hornsby Postcard? Thanks, Randy

Sorry I can't help you Randy. And Leon, thanks for the info. It seems like they are not in too high of demand. I've listed them in the B/S area with no luck. I'll probably send them out to auction somewhere. Thanks again for the help.
