I collect all sorts of Marshall College/University memorabilia. I tend to pick up a rock from everywhere interesting I go to...don't know why, I just do. I am considering investing in a low-end antique car, a driver...but we will see. I also play Apba and probably also collect to some degree.

I collect some old coins, mostly wheat back pennies, but I've bought a few other things cheap I thought were cool, like these old coins:

I dabble in coins with my oldest daughter, but nothing worth more than face value.
![]() My wife and I pick up a double shot glass at each place we vacation at. We don't even really use them, but they look cool. And I guess I collect DVDs since I have a bajillion of them although I'm not REALLY collecting them!

Probably video games. I'm 34, so, NES/SNES were in the wheelhouse of my childhood. Still have a SNES set up in the house to go along with the 360, PS3, Wii, 3DS. Mostly buy, play and sell games though, don't really collect.

.... Golden Age (1938-1951) comics, 1840s British stamps (Penny Blacks and related items), 19th Century US coins (smaller denominations), US Supreme Court autographs... there's a LOT more time spent looking than buying so "collecting" may be more of an active verb than appropriate....

The Cascade Miner newspaper (1892-1912). There are only two known copies of the Miner (one at the Library of Congress & second at Roslyn, Washington Museum). I have more than 30 readable fragments. Last month, I went on a hike to the ghost town of Lester, Washington where I like to search the old homes for newspapers that were once used for insulation. Found a home falling down around itself with what appears to be hundreds of one weekly issue (October 10, 1907) stuffed into the walls. My most significant find to date. Been itching to get my hands on them but have to wait for permission from the landlord, Burlington Northern. It's been four weeks, still nothing.

I collect selected 1/43rd scale diecast and resin racing sports cars, a few Grand Prix, a very few NASCAR, a few Indianapolis 500, a few World Land Speed Record cars and WWS Boats, and a very few passenger cars. The era covers essentially 1929 to 1973, with a few exceptions older and more recent.
Along with this I dabble in various media related to the cars I collect, which complements the collection, as well as giving me more inspiration and relevance to why the particular car is important to me. Of such includes vintage and current magazines, books, VHS, and DVDs The cars' individual histories relating to their given exploits, as well as their drivers, have moved me deeply for over 50 years. The passion is lava-hot. |

I have a pretty big music collection. I'm not much of a record collector type, I just buy a lot of music - vinyl records, CDs, digital downloads. Mostly contemporary independent rock, 1970s punk and 1950s bebop these days.
Someday I'll start collecting concert handbills and tin robots, because I love both, but I need a place to put them first. ![]() Al |

Stamps, Mostly US officials from the 1800's
Just had my first article published, pretty interesting find. Links http://www.mindspring.com/~sblackstone/s006.jpg http://www.mindspring.com/~sblackstone/art2.jpg Racing bicycles, focusing on aerodynamic ones made for National or pro teams between 1982 and 1999. This one was made for the 84 US Olympic team. Only 12 made. All the parts are special, so I had to make many of them. Plus general ephemera, and I've dabbled in coins and a few other hobbies. For those who aren't into them, that's The J Jackson, Ruth, Wagner, Plank, etc for the magic card crowd. Not moneywise, but certainly in impact. I had another of the big ones in Unlimited,(The Black Lotus) and the two tournaments I played it caused quite a stir when I played it. Of course, I lost every single game I played for almost 2 years until I traded it away.......Yes, the card was the star. Steve B |

Postcards focused on Lincoln, Nebraska. I have probably 700-800 different. It fulfills my "need" to collect since the stuff I really love (Lincoln minor league and Nebraska Indians) shows up so seldom anymore that I get bored. I also sideline into Disneyland and Disney World postcards...you'd be surprised how many different postcards there are of those two parks.

I collect Native American artifacts. By "collect" I mean that I walk the fields and river banks looking for them.
Using any type of flint they could fashion, sometimes you find a flint artifact that has been made from a certain type of flint and can be traced to the exact area where the flint was harvested by the Native Americans. I enjoy it because you never know what you're going to find. I've found things like old coins, musket balls and even a prehistoric horse tooth. Jantz |

Very cool, I see plenty of others with interest in coins. I actually collected coins before baseball cards at a very young age but coins are now a very distant 2nd to Detroit cardboard. With coins I have a narrow focus. I only collect coins from 1887 (in honor of the Detroit Wolverines Championship and the Old Judge set which was then in full swing). I prefer business strikes over proofs and prefer NGC holders although I do not like the new NGC holders. So I'm still searching for a higher grade 3 cent piece and quarter graded in an older NGC holder as well as a business strike half. At least I was able to knock out all the gold before it skyrocketed. 1887 is one of the tougher years with six of the thirteen denominations having 10,000 or less minted (that's fairly rare in the world of coins).
I always thought 1909 would be a fun year to collect as well. 1909 was the last year of Indian Head, first year of Lincoln (including the 1909 S VDB). But I'll leave 1909 to someone who is into T206.

Love seeing what ya'll collect =)
As the name indicates, I am a (ball) python factory. Ball pythons are great because a) they are docile b) have dozens of genes that completely change their appearance and c) are big enough to be cool (3-4ft, 1-3lbs) but not scary big. I have a dedicated snake room in my house that is kept at 80F with 60% humidity year round (my wife is the best). It is a fairly small operation: I have two breedable males, six or so breedable females, and about ten sub-adults/hatchlings. I keep them in the Cadillac of snake habitats: ARS caging (see attached picture). I hook up a proportional thermostat (e.g., if my goal is 90F and I'm at 89F, it will only give 10% power) to the snake rack which has flexwatt heat panels to distribute heat. I've attached two pictures: one is a Pastel - Black Pastel - Ghost and the other is a Pastel - Spider - Ghost. |

I collect baseball autographs. I have 3 different items going on at the same time. I am trying to get complete sets autographed. I have about 150 signed cards from the 1969 topps set(my birth year). The set is complete, just trying to get as many signed as possible. The topps 1976 set is another one that I am working on and have over 200 of those cards signed. The 3rd item I have been getting signed since I picked it up in 1990. It is the Topps 40 years of baseball book. It shows every card from 1951-1990 and is great for getting autographs in. I crossed over 600 signatures in it this summer and love getting the no name players of the 60's 70's and 80's to sign the book.

When I was in elementary school I was a huge dork (still am) and I put together a set of the Star Wars figures and left them in their boxes. I would do chores on Saturday and when I was done, my parents would take me to Toys R' Us and let me get a figure ($5 worth each visit). They were great parents, and I have really nice memories from this. I also eventually picked up some of the figures from the 70's, and I also had a few old Marvel and DC comics too. I think I always liked older things as opposed to modern.
I also collect albums and have a lot of the Beatles and Rolling Stones (almost all of the Beatles full length albums, but not quite). Also, Salvador Dail lithographs ... my Dad has Manhattan Skyline, Loves Promise, The Bull Fighter, and La Grande Pavon. Some of his work is absolutely trippy. |
