Knowing Bryan Dec, I would be surprised if it is a fake. He sells lots of vintage nice stuff. Have never seen one like it before.

Not having a real one for reference, I don't see an obvious problem with it. The cut is factory-quality and the graphics are sharp and crisp. With most homemade counterfeits of round or other un-rectangular items, the cut will be less than professional (handcut-- as opposed to factory die cut) and the graphics will be rough and/or washed out.

Bryan is one of the good guys. He will stand behind anything he sells 100%, guaranteed. He is also extremely knowledgeable. I think it's good too (from the scan). I might add he is a good hobby friend and I enjoy hanging with him at shows too.

If the seller is reputable as folks here say, I would guess that it's genuine.
I've seen this fan before-- I don't mean this exact one for sale. It is seen from time to time, but is rare and desirable. Souvenir fans like this were popular in the early 1900s and late 1800s, and the 'Fan for a Fan's have been posted on this board before. The standard style is a graphical cardboard top attached, usually stapled, to a wooden stick. Last edited by drc; 06-13-2012 at 02:12 PM. |

Seller looks reputable to me. Will make mention though that I remembered seeing at REA: http://www.robertedwardauctions.com/...05.html#photos
not sure which is good - or both - the ebay with blue background or the REA with black background |
