110 Years Ago - Bill Dineen

On January 4, 1902 pitcher Bill Dineen signed with the Boston Americans. He will go on to play a key part in Boston's victory in the first World Series, followed by a stellar career as a major league umpire.

He was selected for the Honor Rolls of Baseball (part of the Baseball Hall of Fame) for his work as an umpire.
