I just picked up an older vintage, cast metal ticket hole punch. These were used to mark complimentary baseball tickets in the past, as well as to validate entrance to early baseball, football and movie tickets.
I've also attached photos of examples of different baseball tickets that were punched. The early baseball ticket shows where a punch was used each time the ticket was presented to different games for a season. The Koufax perfect game stub is an example of what they call an "Annie Oakley ticket", which was given as a complimentary ticket to a lucky patron. Geez, a free ticket to Koufax's perfect game? How much luckier can you get than that? Anyway, I know this is pretty old, perhaps pre-WWII, but I'm no expert. Anyone care to take a swing at guessing the hole punch vintage? Thanks in advance for your help! ![]() |
