Default Cubs at Boston right now 1918 uniforms?

I have not heard the announcers say what year they are wearing, but I assume those are 1918's since that was the last time these 2 met.

They do have numbers on the back so that isn't right, but I assume that's so they can sell them later and u'd know who's was who's.

check 'em out......kinda ugly, but fun to see.

and it's very foggy out there......nice touch.

Default Yep 1918

They are trying to recreate it as it was then so they have no public address system going, but a guy dressed in 1918 garb with a big cone like mega phone announcing the players, it's pretty funny.

They also changed the score board to look like a scorecard from then, and they are not playing music when the batters come to the plate or any thing between innings. A nice change!

The plain white bread uni's are terrific. Baggy and ill-fitting. Especially on Youk. I do like the Cubs logo design.

Too bad the announcers don't insert brief anecdotes of the ancient teams and history. This is a primo opportunity to forego the typical current pressbox drivel.

I was at last night's game on the Monster, and Eric Karros was walking around on the Monster, chatting with fans up there about how they felt to see a Cubs / Sox game. I know there were some good stories a couple of guys from my group shared with him, but he hasn't repeated any of them yet tonight. Couple of more innings to see if he uses that material....

I like the uni's and Steve is right about Youk's ill fitting uni. And what an ugly 8th inning from a Sox perspective. The Sox looked like they were using gloves from 1918 .

Loved the nuances around the ballpark, but those were the ugliest throwback jerseys that I have ever seen! (both teams).

These were interesting and I normally love the throwbacks, but the Sox ones were just a little too boring for me. Too bad they couldn't have worn the 1908 ones, they're my favorite early Boston unis!

I have the megaphone that was used by the cubs announcer in the '18 series... Seriously, how long were megaphones used by teams? It's totally cool they did the throwback to that series.

Default great series!

It's been two interesting games with lots of runs. My wife and I have enjoyed the local buzz here about the history surrounding the two teams. There's been a lot of nice coverage in our media and it's made for a fun series.

Ha, good one Michael. That was quite a terrible inning for them....I wish they kept Rich Hill in to pitch the 8th. You know how the old saying goes, "If it ain't broke..."

That game was very neat though with the unis and everything else they did. I hope Marlon Byrd is OK though.

My friend had an extra ticket to the game tonight so I'm going! Wonder if they're gonna play some beanball after last night.

Kerry Wood hit Lowrie in the thigh. It was intentional and both benches were warned. I don't blame [Wood] one bit, even though Aceves never meant for that to happen. I read he tried to get in contact with Byrd to see if he was alright, with no luck.

Very cool until you look down at their feet and see them wearing Nike's. Kind of ruins the mood a bit for me.
