Default 1912 Johnny Evers Cubs Banquet Program

Dated November 14, 1912 is this menu from a banquet given to honor Johnny Evers as the new Cubs manager for 1913. Frank Chance was manager for the Cubs in 1912 but he and owner Charles Murphy had their final falling out at the end of the season resulting in Chance losing his job.

The cover shows a nice picture of Evers and the inside pages include the menu and the program of events which include speeches by Cap Anson Joe Tinker. There is also a lengthy listing of the members of the reception committee. Amo
ng those names are 2 individuals who would have a significant impact on baseball in the next few years – Charles Weeghman and Judge Landis.

Overall the program is in EX condition and the string binding is fully intact. The right edge of the program upon first glance appears to have some wear but I think it is just how it was cut to give it a “deckle” edge. Price $200 shipped and insured. Please email any questions or for additional pictures.
