I know some will disagree with me but REALLY? This guy does more harm then good. Puts fake autographs and fake baseballs into the market.
http://pastimebaseballs.com/customize.html You can find his garbage on Ebay too. It's a big reason I will not take the plunge into autograph collecting, using old paper and old pens, you can bet many auto collectors have fake ones and they don't even know due to clowns like this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...253D&viewitem= Last edited by Shoeless Moe; 11-10-2010 at 11:20 AM. |

So now after seeing that Website above, going forward when watching EBAY how can I tell when a legit ball is being offered vs a modern one made to look old.
Is this one legit? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...=STRK:MEWAX:IT |

Does pastime baseballs put some sort of marking on their reproductions for identification sake?

"Yes "RP" Everything says "replica 2010" on them. And if you can't tell the difference between a 100 year old ball and a brand new Rawlings then you've got issues of your own." Guess that sums it up. Great PR guy they have over there... Last edited by rp12367; 11-10-2010 at 03:26 PM. |

Aside from the terse answer, then I guess I have no real issue then. Sure I understand that "replica" language can be removed, or scuffed, or whatever - but I don't believe replicas should be outlawed so long as they are properly identified as such.

I think it's funny how only the response to the email was posted ,why not the whole email? How was this guy approached? He was called a clown in the first post, and sent a probably not too nice email that wasn't posted here for the members to see.

I wasn't the one who sent the email, but I was the one who called him a clown, and I do apologize to any clowns that are members here. I'll change that to an idiot. Surely there are no idiots on this board.
