Many auction houses (Goodwin, REA, etc) have continued to rely on T206 museum as their primary source of T206 information - especially for back scarcity.
Given the shady at best (fraudelent? / criminal?) behavior by T206 museum's owner I find it very curious why these reputable auction houses continue to rely on this tainted source of information. I personally believe that Jim R's T206 thread on rare backs is far more accurate (and probably less biased) than T206 museum's list. Thoughts? |

I agree. Jim could do a web site and eventually his site could be the one quoted. T206 Museum has a nifty web site, but it doesn't make them experts.
Anybody can proclaim to be a self-professed expert in this hobby, whether or not their information is factual. Remember Alan Hagar? Ron R |

Until someone else steps up to the plate and provides better or more accessible information, that's where they will continue to go.

Google "T206" and t206museum.com is the second search result. Trae's site is first, but it doesn't have "articles" like t206museum.com does.

One of many examples of BS from T206museum.com:
http://www.t206museum.com/page/periodical_81.html "One of the great finds in the hobby almost walked unnoticed out the door of Orve Johansson's Largo, Fla., baseball card shop late last year. But because of the shop owner's concern for his customers, Johansson's now the owner of a rare, unopened package of 1910 Piedmont cigarettes. The pack's cellophane wrap still is intact, and the package contents remain hidden from the world." The pack is 1930's. Cellophane wrap gives it away. I rather trust Alan Hagar than t206museum.com for info. |
