I just picked this up today at our local show. Anybody know what I have? Is it part of a set? And is it worth anything?

John, it is from the 1947 Signal Gasoline set. They produced a similar set featuring the artwork of former major leaguer Al Demaree for several of the PCL teams that year. The Oaks are among the easiest of the bunch to find and in its condition is in the $10-20 range or so.

I've always thought that's a nice set. It includes Casey Stengel as Oaks manager, as well as a card of Vince DiMaggio.

Hi John:
Assuming you are serious and do not know about this set the cards were issued for Seattle, Oakland, Hollywood, Los Angeles and Sacramento. Sacramento and Seattle are easily the toughest to find. If you like the set attend Mark Macrae's June show in San Leandro and you will find a lot of them. Mark Bowers |

Thanks, I probably should have checked Ebay first before posting it here as I now see searching 1947 PCL would have answed all my questions.
