Does anyone have a list of the proof cards that Keith Olbermann has added to the all-inclusive T206 list? Are there scans of these out there? And does he own them all now?

What, Keith doesn't want to share the cards? "There mine, all mine... nobody gets them but me!"

From what i know of Olbermann's collection is he is a low profile collector that does not like to flaunt his collection. Did some sales with him last few months and without a doubt is a fast payer and responds quick to emails. Zero problems selling to him.
There used to be a youtube video of either 60 minutes or some other interview where he showed of parts of his collection to the reporter. Can't seem to find it though. |

Keith is a member of Net54baseball.com and I believe he reads it fairly often...but as mentioned above, is very low key with his magnificent collection. He only registered on the board a few months ago but has been lurking for quite a while I believe. As a trading partner he gets an A+. Also, I think those proofs aren't invisible on the internet. They are out there somewhere and I am sure Keith wouldn't mind us looking at them. best regards

He won a lot of eight previously unknown T206 subjects that were proofs in a Mastro auction about ten years ago. There were no names printed on the cards. After purchasing them, he did some research to find out who they were, and wrote up his findings in a VCBC article. The only other uncatalogued proof was a T206 Collins/batting pose that walked into a show in the '70's with a bunch of other T206 proofs (all previously known subjects) and T3 proofs. I don't remember which issue of VCBC it was, but I am sure others here willknow.
JimB edited to correct the number of new cards found in the lot from ten to eight. Last edited by E93; 01-30-2010 at 12:12 PM. |

Jim B is, as usual, correct. VCBC #9, January 1997.

I think at one time or another Terry Knouse (Tik n Tik) owned the proofs...they were glued to a notebook that had factory notes on them. I used to scans of them but cannot find them at this moment. Terry might know more than me and still have pics or scans.

Are these the cards? They don't appear to have names, though, but the writeup here includes names (is this just taken off of the Mastro write up?). Interesting that these are mostly Southern Leaguers,

If my memory is correct, Keith had a clever title of "Eight Men In" for the title of the article he wrote regarding the eight cards that he picked up.

Hi Guys,
Thanks for the information. I've read the VCBC article in mention, and another article about the Collin 3/4 pose, as well. Just remember reading that there were about 80 T206 proofs known, and was wondering if any more besides the 8 Southern Leaguers and the 2nd Collins pose were different then what had been printed in the regular series? I'm assuming not. |

I realize these 80-100 proofs are likely all from T206 but could they not be from some other issues as well, especially those not seen?

Seems if they got so far as to print a proof, wouldn't someone have noticed the L on the jersey fronts were backwards? Maybe I've been in advertising design too long, but that's the sort of stuff that gets you fired.

The "J"'s are for Jacksonville per the T206 site notes.

I will say that the proof of the Danville player says "KLINE" on the bottom, but there's no record of a Kline playing on the Danville Red Sox in 1909-11. |
