Default Rube Waddell Card Catalog

Hey guys, I am trying to work on obtaining as many Rube Waddell cards as I possibly can, I just need help putting together a master list of his available cards. So far I know of:

Breisch Williams (E107)
Fan Craze
American Caramel (E91-A)
T206 (Portrait, Throwing)
Sporting Life (M116)
Standard Caramel (E93)
T3 Turkey Red
Callahan
Shakeys Pizza
Laughlin Famous Feats

Can anyone fill in what I am missing?

Thanks - Rob

Remember in the E254 Waddell, you have him with Minneapolis and Newark captions as well and it appears that he's in the E270 Tin Tops version with Minneapolis.

Also.....with the W600, remember there are a few variations seen of the W600 Waddell.....the dark green mount appears to be an anomoly as it's the only one I've seen......probably a one of a kind........

Keep 'em coming!! Postcards are fine, any representation is what I am looking for. Also does anyone know the different T206 backs for the 2 Waddell's off-hand?

This thread is a starting point, but you probably won't be able to compile a complete list of his cards with just this thread. I would recommend buying (or borrowing) someone's Beckett Alphabetical checklist book. That will list MOST (probably 99%) of Rube Waddell's cards.

You could also try www.beckett.com to see what cards others are selling. Once at the website, go to Marketplace near the top and type in Rube Waddell. That is another option, but once again, won't give you the complete list.

I have four different modern Rube Waddell cards for sale on my website below.

Thanks Brad!!

Yea basically I scoured the SGC registry and looked at any set from 1900-1912 or so and then I have Callahan and Laughlins, and I am aware of Shakeys. Any help is much appreciated.

Don't forget the Perez-Steele original postcard, as well as the Greatest Moments (T-3 lookalike).

Rube was also in the 1986, 1988 and 1993 Conlon Collection sets

Jeff,

If you're done with that Lincoln Publishing postcard, I'll take it back now. Thanks.

Paul,
I'll have to leave it to you in my will, don't think I'll be done with it before then.

Default Albertype, Artvue & HOF metallic

Hall of Fame issues such as the Albertype and Artvue postcards (Type 1 & Type 2 of each), the various issuers of gold/yellow postcards and the 1981-89 metallic plaque-cards are others that come to mind. All were sold at the Hall of Fame Museum store or by subscription (in the case of the metallic plaque-cards).

In addition to the Conlon Collection cards mentioned, Rube Waddell was also featured in the large format 1984's (Smithsonian) but (surprise!) not the first modern set (1981) distributed through The Sporting News.

As has been mentioned, the Beckett Alphabetical Baseball Card Checklist book is helpful with 90%+ of the issues listed. However, that book misses the '84 Conlon card, among others to be sure. Still, it is one of my most used guides.

Default Bregstone

After years of searching the best I can do is a picture of one, reversed as well.
