I only have a handful of these great ballplayers and it's mostly of the Beast, but I would love to see what the board has to offer. So, pull out your Collins, Plank, Waddell, Baker, Joost, Bender, Meyers, Barry, McInnis, Grove, Cochrane, Foxx, Dykes, Simmons and so on. You get the gist... If they played for Mack, let's see them! And of course Mack himself.

44 long vertical pennant with applied lettering and elephant mascot along with all three blue tassels. Has a few tiny moth holes otherwise very clean. I'm told these pennants were believed to have been given to the players after their World Series triumph in 1910.

I agree with Jimmy... that's a holy grail piece! Just a beautiful, majestic and historic pennant. Can you share how you acquired it? I believe Mastro had one about a decade ago, and that's the only one I've ever seen. It was even accompanied by a photo of an early automobile with people aboard, celebrating the A's Win, with this identical pennant draped for all to see (if I'm remembering correctly).

It is one of my favoite pieces. I got it at Hunt's auction about 7 or 8 years ago. I'd love to see that picture.

Here you go, Jack....

An unreal companion piece to your magnificent pennant. I found it in the Halper Catalogue (Lot 1838).

Not only is your style of pennant pictured in this photo, but Connie Mack and Eddie Plank are in the Car (among others...) Another intriguing aspect of this photo is the Oakland Pennant also visible in the photo. A look into the future, perhaps??

I don't have my Halper catalogue handy at the moment for a higher res look - but it looks like the somewhat rotated out of line H in Jack's pennant is very simlar to the one in the old photo.

Jimmy - That A's coffee mug was a real nice pickup. I was watching it and hoped a collector would recognize its rarity and value. Great odd ball souvenir. Heck, I would have to resist the urge to drink an occasional cup of coffee out of it. This metal liscense plate is from the same era.

That's a great catch on the "H" being tilted to the same side, and differing in relation to the other vertical letters. Since these letters were embroidered on (and not screened/painted) this would certainly increase the chances of it being the same pennant. If the graphics were screened instead, the letter H would be like that on all of them....

Pretty chilling to think it could conceivably be the same one pictured, nearly 100 years later. Of course the year on the Pennant pre-dates the photo (dated 1913), but it's very possible that the pennant was simply retained for a couple of years. That could also explain why the 1910 year portion of the pennant is folded under, and out of view inside the car

That Eddie Collins signed Cover is a killer piece. Perfect bold example... I love his autograph. Great HOF collection as well... the Rabbit Maranville Signed Playball Card is another beauty that really caught my eye. And the McKechnie Cover too... Great stuff!

Great sigs. You don't see a lot of Collahan signed cards, relative to oother issues. I love the cleaness of the Baker and Bender.
The Collins is a beaut. He definitely needs to be in any of the "nicest looking autograph" discussions.

Just took a look at your photobucket site.
Very nice collection you got there.
I really like the Stearnes, Vance, and Connolly.
The Evers is a spectacular example. Sooo clean and neat.
I do love the Faber card though. His sig isn't that hard, but it's a great pic on the card.
Also, if you ever want to trade or sell the Rice postcard LMK. It is one I need for my set. You can use the link in my sig to the the rest of them.
