Dan- putting together the subset of N172 Omaha players is not an easy task to take on. I know there are some very tough cards from that team.

Barry, I have no plans to put the entire set together of Omahas as I know there are a few players that have only a couple known cards...I'm just going to "accumulate" what I can without any goals in that area.

There are one or two super rare Omaha players but the names escape me. Do you remember who they are (I know it's not Messitt )?

Flynn and Doran. I think someone said only two known copies of the Flynn card are known.

Those are the two. Doran is rare and Flynn is "forget about" rare.

Got this one at the same local auction as the Colgans' in the other thread. Also had near team sets of T206 and C46 Buffalo Bisons as well as the a T213-2, 3 other Colgans' and the T201.

Ed - some of the corners on that CJ are so sharp, I think I just got a cut from looking at them!

Got these in a BST trade. All have GWT stamped on the back. It looks like the stamp wore down over the years too.

From top to bottom these are Owen, Hayden & Cree:

Dave,

Good to see you received the 3 stamped T206's. The T213 Summers you sent me looks great.

I picked up my first 1913 Zeenut this morning on eBay. It should display well with the 1915 Zeenut I picked up in December. I guess I'll need to find a 1914 Zeenut now, so I can have a run from 1911-1915.

It has been a while since I picked up something that I have truly wanted & had on my personal wantlist for years. Jake Stenzel has a lifetime avg of .339, and this was his only item ever produced (no cards). After his career was over Stenzel opened a bar/shop across from the new Cincinnati ballpark, and made some great pins to advertise (I guess it is ironic that he would only be pictured on a pin as a player himself.) I have had the Rooter pin for a while, but am glad to ad the Cameo Pepsin.

Herpolsheimer's (one of the few players NOT to be produced in the later E121 Set)

One of the truly hard to find Jewish ballplayers (Jonah Goldman)

I know this may belong in the memorabilia section but I believe more people will see it here and this might be the first baseball currency to be graded by PSA's subsidiary (PCGS):

Just finalized a deal with a flea market contact last night on this group after 2 weeks of haggling back and forth. He overheard me ask a dealer about an actress Newsboy cabinet 2 Saturdays ago. The guy has a 6 figure glass insulator collection that is out of this world displayed in his living room.

I just picked it up this week.

it was a BST trade-up.

A pleasant, smooth transaction.

Most of my 2008 Focus will be to upgrade my favorite cards....
so now I am looking for a PSA 4 or 5 to upgrade this card to!

yes, I know.... I just got the card.... its a sickness
ah, its a great hobby.
