Default 19th Century Cigar Box

Posted By: Nick Martinez

Gentlemen(&Julie),
I recently picked this up at a show and I was wondering if anyone has ever seen one before? It appears to be 19th century based on the image inside the box. At first I thought it might be Cuban, but "baseball" is spelled in english on the topside of the box. It measures approximently 5"X 5.5" by 11" long.

Sorry for the poor photo quality, my photoshop was accidently deleted so I can't process photos. It's a really sharp looking box!

Any ideas on value or origin?

Thanks in advance for any and all opinions.

Regards,
Nick

I also inadvertantly included some more pictures of it in a photo show, there are four other misc. pictures before the box pictures. Nevertheless, these are better images:

Default 19th Century Cigar Box

Posted By: Jason

Hi Nick,

This exact same box recently sold on e-bay for around $500 (I think). The guy selling it then said it came from Boston and depicted Philadelphia vs. Boston on the English tour of 1874. Hope this helps!

Jason
