Talkin "Black Sox " guys....show your Tobacco, Candy, etc. cards of those "involved"
I acquired this 1919 White Sox team poster some years ago.
It is framed, and on display in my Sportscard office surrounded by all my vintage BB and FB uncut sheets. I have no idea where it originally came from. Perhaps someone on this forum can identify the source of it. 10 1/2" x 16" Poster TED Z T206 Reference . |

Technically not a Black Sock, but Attell was the alleged fixer and operator arranging the game rigging and so he seems to mean to qualify for the thread.
Here's all 4 of his T219 cards, if I'm allowed to play with Attell. |

Nice Attell cards. I believe 3 are actually T218, while the slightly narrower one is a T219.

Here's the full family, all 9 possible Attell's of this image. Mecca 30, Mecca 649, Hassan 30, and Hassan 649 series 1 backs, above his C52 series 1 card. All 4 T219's on the right. |

I pulled a sneaky on you by including the mini mini Red Cross . Some of the Red Cross cards don’t look nearly as good as the others because the cropping starts to interfere with the picture and not just trim fat off the background like it does for Dishonest Abe here.

Abe Attell was the "bag man" for New York gamblng gangster Arnold Rothstein. Attell supposedly gave $10,000
to several Chicago White Sox players to "throw" the 1919 World Series. Printed and issued in 1948 ---------------------------- Printed and issued in 1949 TED Z T206 Reference . |
