1940's or 50's Baseball Card Satchel Paige White House Coffee
What are the thoughts on this Satchel Paige "card" currently listed on eBay? I've been looking everywhere and can't find anything to support it being issued as part of a set or an advertising giveaway. Maybe a vintage prototype or something made decades later with a vintage look? Per the seller it measures 2.5 x 3.5 inches. |

I don't own a ton of vintage baseball cards but I do have a stash of 1953 Topps Satchel Paige. The SGC's are probably going to be crossed over to PSA at some point. The artwork and card design of the Satch 53 can't be beat.

Nice cards Jon. That card has grown on me over the years. For my project, I can remember a few years ago seeing signed ones go for $800-1,100, occasionally as high as $1,200-1,400, and I just never pulled the trigger. Now, one just sold in the last REA for $3,500.

Should we just call all such fantasy cards designed to look old "Helmars" from now on? They seem to have defined these types of cards.
