I will agree my last post was a bit childish, but I think the consensus is that we are all sick of this thread. I think it is time for it to go away. Just consign the card and then let everyone know where you consigned it. You have created plenty of publicity for it and then let it ride on auction. Just my 2 cents worth, but the longer this thread stays here, the more childish the comments will get. That is a relative certainty

Robert, unless you are finding all the stupid comments entertaining, perhaps you should just start a new thread and hope people won't pile on this time.

The same thing would happen. It's amazing I have always bought never sold I try to sell one card and this is what happens. Me thinks that I will stick to buying.

Stupidity on display can indeed be entertaining, which is why I asked Robert.

If I started another thread they would just jump over there. Next month there's a big card show here on Long Island think I will go and consign it with an auction house because this is just crazy. It's at 20K and will stay there.

Once we got to a point around 200 posts ago, the general rules for a BST transaction were mostly out the window. This isn't a dictatorship, contrary to what a few might think, or a loosely run board (imo), and the rules are always guidelines which should usually be followed. I am fairly sure most members don't want a stale place? And I have had more than a couple PMs and emails asking me to lock this thread. My question is why? It is 1 thread on a page of 35. If you don't like it, skip it. If it gets way out of control, in my opinion, then maybe something else will be done. I/we never like to lock threads. That's my half cent....I bid $10k !!

If I recall correctly I offered you $18,000 for this card within 3 days of your order being graded. I also made strong offers on the other items in the order (which I won't disclose because you haven't made them public ).

I deeply regret that offer after reading this thread.

Hindsight is 20/20 right?

always amazes me as buyers seem to think the first offer can never be the best offer....i have plenty of offers on cards listed on ebay that get marked down to what i offered for them months earlier

plus if the seller cant get more than i offered and come back to me i no longer what the card at that price knowing my offer scared away all the buyers as the seller was using my offer against other buyers.....its lose lose...

This is a great suggestion. List the card, price, and perhaps ask those who aren't interested not to comment.

And if this is an auction now, I'll bid 11k

Everyone's stupid except the OP who can't convince any of the "dozen or so people" who estimate the card to be worth 25-35K to pay 18K for it.

It's not 18 anyway it's 20k guess you can't read moron. Plus most of the people making comments don't have the money anyway and really need to keep there comments to them selves. Plus you're real tough on the computer are you not how about in person?

Maybe before you call someone a moron you should learn how to spell "themselves."

And considering you treat this card like Gollum treated his Precious, the chances of you controlling yourself from not shilling it in an open auction without a reserve seems pretty remote to me.

Never singled anyone out and a person can only take so much crap enough is enough. I am in NY if one of you people have the balls to come say something to my face. I am going to find another board or forum to join to many jerks here don't get me wrong there are also a lot of nice people here but the jerks always have something to say. Let see who is the biggest jerk of them all I guess that would be the next comment. And I really don't care if anyone here buys it anymore don't care. It will go to someone who appreciates it.

Why you so worried about grammar? This is a post to sell a card not make jokes. I am trying to be nice but you are makes it hard. Why don't you go look at some other posts and comment there. You would like to meet to discuss this?

Rob or Robert - whichever you prefer. I don't know you and you don't know me. We've had no interaction except for this thread. So, for the whole forum sake, let's put this to bed.

State your current asking price. And stop making threats to send to auction house. Then someone, who hasn't followed this circle jerk, and wants the card, may respond. I doubt it at this point, but this has to end somehow.

I wish no ill-will toward you and I hope you can sell it for what you want. But the probability of selling it here...on this thread, is near zero.

And lastly, don't do the "you would like to meet" crap. That tends to make people look like an a-hole. I mean, you want to sell a card or fight someone. Who, by the way, you have never met.

How big a boy are ya? How do I get to where you're are? You going to be there all day? My name is Roy D. Mercer!

one person stumbles over a drunk guy laying on the ground and everyone hears the drunk guy mumble some incoherent jibberish.

instead of letting him lay there in his own puke till he sobers up and walks away, we say "hey! lets kick him while he's down!"

we should be proud of ourselves

I feel like we ignored this thread for about 4 months before people started making comments.

So maybe it's like the drunk guy would sing the Macarena every 5 minutes and everyone tried to ignore it for a few hours until they couldn't anymore.

If he wasn't bumping it every few days, it never would have gotten to this point (obviously).

I don't get what the big deal is. People keep saying they're sick of this thread. It's pretty easy not to open it if it bothers anyone. I keep reading because I find it interesting.

It's constantly getting bumped because of all of our posts. Occasionally the OP has bumped without responding to a question or comment, but I wouldn't say he's over done it.

Figured it was overdue to hear that be said. You nailed the double fecta. Spelling and a shill insult.

Default Entertainment

Why keep looking? Pure entertainment value. Not a lot of places you can watch something like this unfold. And it is ramping up. Every time I open it, more entertainment value! Does it need to go away? Sure. But for now I plan to stay tuned. Thoroughly enjoying this, but would not be if I was trying to sell any T206 cards.

Anyone this insanely desperate for cash to hold onto a card this long, to make such an ass out of himself in trying to sell it for significantly more than it's worth -- no matter how obvious it is that the market for the card is less -- is capable of anything to maximize its value. The idea that you could now simply consign it with no or little reserve and just take your chances at an auction is just not possible to believe. If you could live in this card you would.

if sell at the low end...25k and buy for 18 even the '20k' thats being asked..thats only a poor 5k profit.....dealers need to make money too...how they going to make money if only making 5k on the card at worst and only make 15K at best....c'mon they need to make a living too..

Let's hit 400 posts on this thread. Very doable at this point. And I have never contemplated living in a card, but an interesting thought. But it begs one question? Where would I store my other cards? Hmmmmm

Don't tease us, Rob. I've been hoping for the past decade that you'd go away.
