Love that Ruth. That card always seems to capture the essence of Ruth to me. The other end of the spectrum is that dopey CJ where he looks like a drunk with his hat falling off.

Ruth CJ? Do you mean the PSA National give-away?

56 Mantle PSA 6.5? This is the card that makes absolutely no sense to me, absolutely none....There also looks like some weird stuff going on with the reverse.... People looking for a higher graded 56 Mantle would know that there are plenty for the taking based upon the numbers....

Default Finally!!!!

Finally got the extremely tough violet E94 Cy Young to complete the 6 different colored E94 Young fronts.
I thought the E,94s, both regular and overprinted backs and E98s, both regular and Old Put backs, went for really reasonable prices. I wanted to jump on some as duplicates because of the good prices but stayed focused on the prize :-)

Great proof card. I really would like to get one someday, but at that price it isn't likely.

some of the t205 bulk lots were still reasonable last I looked, just didn't have the money to pull the trigger.

I was the underbidder on the Old Mill Cabinet Dutch Revelle entering extended bidding. I wouldnt exactly say I lost it though as I never was really in the running obviously with the 7k+ closing price!

It wasnt a total loss though quite the opposite. Of the 7 lots I had bids on I was able to pick up the Series 4 Benny card which has eluded me for a few years partially from my own mistakes. The addition brings me to needing just Dougherty for completion of Series 4.

I love that e94 Cy. Leon, I'm curious about your comment as I'm relatively new to the hobby. Is there any reason the prices on those have fallen as much as they have? Was it symptomatic of all e-cards? Just less demand, or was there a population change? I'm starting to get into these cards and am trying to learn as much as I can. Appreciate anyone's thoughts.

I was very pleased with what I picked up, given the quality of items on offer and what I assumed to be record setting prices soon to be achieved. The best value from a dealer standpoint was the lot won of 7 T202's, which included nice specimens of Matty, WoJo, Cy and Tinker/Evers/Chance. Also won was:-
N172 McClellan, Denver Outdoor Pose
Display Piece of Horner Photo/M116 card of Harry Smith, which will look great in my office.

Well this went for about $1000 more than I thought it would. I exited the site after $500 was surpassed...

Nice pick-up! I had an initial bid on that one, then stayed off and focused on others. I have it in red, more focused on completing a set rather than a color string .. though an amazing thing (IMO) to be be able to stay focused and do that!

I won some of the other E94's, most were dupes/upgrades though. I agree that the prices were pretty reasonable compared to what I thought they might go for.

The E98's .. in some respects I thought along the lines of what you may expect, but that E98 Chance PSA8 went a lot higher (w/juice) than I thought it would have or recent sales may have suggested. That's a hard group to judge with shifts in demand, HOF vs. no, high/low end, Black Swamp, etc. Congrats again on that purple Young!

Patience pays off again...3.5 year wait saved me over $8,200 on this gem. I bid back in 2013, but bailed out long before this went over $14,000 then...much happier with the 2016 price, needless to say:
