Not all that exotic, but I always liked the T206 Chase w/loving cup...it's a lot like the Ruth with Bird card, but not quite so "out there." I have one. Will probably upgrade it at some point.

My two favorite cards aren't anything spectacular from a price perspective, but visually to me they are fantastic.

My favorite pre-war card is the T-206 Ed Walsh. I used to own a PSA 7, and I sure miss it. What a beautiful card! I guess I better skip post-war, but I wish there were more post-war questions as those you people have.

I'll chime in with either the 1869 Peck and Snyder Red Stockings or the 1863 Jordan and Co. cricket match ticket of Harry Wright (perhaps the "first" baseball card)?

For a card I own, it's got everything for me: player I really like, rarity, real photo image, vintage autograph as issued.
Now for a card I don't own, I'll take a Pebble Beach Joe DiMaggio, for the same reasons. All time, all sports, this is my favorite for family reasons:

Other than any of my Walter Johnson cards, my favorite card is the only one I lack to complete my 1925 Holland Creameries set of World's Champion Washington Senators. I am referring to the long-unknown Roger Peckinpaugh card, which I had an opportunity to purchase some years ago when one first surfaced; but, it cost lotsa $$$, and I coudn't bring myself to pull the trigger! I'd love to know in whose collection it now resides.

Cool thread.
![]() The card I don't own that I like the most is the T202 Cobb. I'd love to own even a beat up copy of that beauty. This one I do own, not on par with what some of you guys own, but one I'm thrilled to have in my small collection. ![]() |

I'm surprised no one has shown a card of one of the great characters of the pre-war era. Mr. Waddell's portraits will forever have a place among my favorite poses.

The favorite card in my collection is also a Matty...1912 RPPC. The scans don't do it justice.
![]() ![]() By the way Joe D., you should post your Astoria Giants. That is one postcard I have always enjoyed viewing. It is truly a cornerstone piece. Where did you pick it up? Mike |

Mike -
Your Matty postcard is incredible. I am sure, as you say, it looks even better in person. Beautiful. Here is the Astoria Giants card. It is my favorite card in my collection, and is probably my favorite in the hobby. But, whenever I reply to threads that ask about favorites - - - I usually exclude the Astoria card (otherwise it would be the only card I post ![]() ![]() ![]()

My favorite card is the 1933 Goudey Napolean Lajoie.
Strange enough I learned of this card as a kid in the mid 1970's, in an article by the founder of TMCA. The founder had obtained a bunch of original printing plates and he started his card reprinting business in the 1970's. Beautiful card. Frank L. |
