Randall,
I would swap it out as wikipedia is wrong about the date they put in as 1943.
The game did indeed take place on Jan 3rd 1942. If you google East west shrine game 1942 and not look at wikipedia you will have your answer. So change away!
Also read the story about5-6 down on google Memorable Football Games 7 as the game was played to a 6-6 tie and why they wouldnt ever have the game in New Orleans again.
Also the 1942 Baseball All Star game was played at the Polo Grounds In New York. So my question which has always been is why put New Orleans on a baseball pin? Answer is it isnt baseball related its a football pin.
