Here's the 2007 REA SGC 30 for $35,250 (including BP) in 2007:

And then in 2012 REA for $25,000 (plus juice):

That means the seller in 2012 appears to have lost over $10,000 on this Plank -- WOW!

Pretty normal, though...the 2007 and 2008 REA auctions pretty much represent the very highest peak of the card market. Since the crash in the Fall of 2008, most prices have not fully rebounded to those earlier levels.

With limited exceptions (like rare backed T206s), buying cards at auction in 2007-2008 to sell up to today's date would have been a bad investment.

The financial crash is probably another reason why since 2 month arround 7 eddie plank was for sale.....

Good point. And after the lows of 2009-2011, I think some people felt 2012 might be a better time to sell (I agree that there have been increases in many prices since those lows).

I think now is a perfect time to buy a t206 Plank. Value should only rise from here for rarer t206 cards. That's just my two cents.
