Maybe if they made a Pesky coaches card? 70 years, 1942-2012. When was his first card?

Connie Mack was still active as a manager in 1950. So despite being a HOF set, his Callahan card could possibly still be a career contemporary card(although the first release of this may have been in '51). His Albertype HOF postcards would mostly be career contemporary.

I think last time this came up Jimmy Reese was the winner, he had some card in the 20s as a player and was in 1991 Bowman or something like that as a coach.

Here are a few pair I dug out...
You guys tell me the years for the cards. (Gonzales is a York Caramel.) ![]() This pair has a few years between them.... ![]() For Barry, here's the 1910 Stengel. Somewhere I have a 50's Bowman with him as a manager, but I need to find a 1965 Topps... ![]() And somewhere I have a Reese contract where he signed to be a coach, I think it's a late 80's PCL contract. I had found a ZeeNut of him, but mine's a 1928 card, Jon has me beaten by a year. At the moment I'm annoyed that I can't find it; found the box I thought it was in, and there are contracts in there, but not Reese's... might find it in a few days. Thank you for the thread, Dr. Last edited by FrankWakefield; 04-11-2012 at 06:05 PM. |
