Received this in the mail today from the bay.
Cuban card pre dates Newk's MLB rookie card by a few years and also pictures him in his Newark Eagles uniform. I believe the only other contemporary cards that show players in their Negro uni's are the Doble Aguila Dihigo (Hilldale) and the 2 Toleteros of Fernando Pedroso (NY Cubans) but please correct me if I'm forgetting someone else.
Anyways, pretty important card IMO when it comes to collecting Cuban cards and if I was compiling a list of TOP100 Negro cards, this one may slip in.
This is the only one graded by SGC and none by PSA.

Some great pickups everyone, love the Cobbs!

I picked up this Unusual OBAK, knew it was trimmed from a sheet but got it and its thinner than normal OBAKs and the color is so sharp (anyone got another Steen to compare it to). Very happy with it but wondering if some of the full sheets out there are thinner also.

Default 1st Tolstoi HOFer

I put in a lowball bid for this one without really even looking at the card. Was pretty pleased when it arrived. It's my first Tolstoi back. Also, the seller didn't mention it has a wet transfer on the front from another Tolstoi back. It's also probably the nicest 30 I've ever seen.

I have seen more wet sheet transfers on Tolstois than with any other ad back. I can't see any reason that the printers would be in a bigger hurry to stack those, than other ads, so my guess is a difference in the ink used?

Great pick-up, Steve. BTW that card did make my Top 100 Negro League Cards list as well.

Default Thank you Huggins & Scott!

Very happy with this lot, which I thought would go for a bit higher because of the Donlin, Schulte and Ames, which are always tough to find...
