Yes, I was there along with a few other Net 54 members. The prices were fairly strong, I mean most lots went for double what I would have paid. I did manage the pick up a Elberfeld Washington portait for myself.

Do you remember what Cobb went for? Also, I heard someone say there was a $10,000 card there? Was there? Was it the Doyle?

I believe the Cobb was $1100 and maybe the Doyle was the other card?

I thought it might go over $1,000. Thanks for the info.

I couldn't make it but my mother went and won lots 6 and 16 for a little over $500. She said nothing went cheap.

The Cobb did go for around $1100 as Andrew said... I think that was the highest price paid for any card or lot. The "rarest" card was the Elberfeld that Andrew picked up (in the lot with a nice Hooker and Titus). I don't know how they organized the lots vs some of the singles. The first single was Abbaticcio brown... at most a $15 card in the condition. I believe it sold for $75. I think that the VG Collins was the best single buy at around $130. The funniest thing to me was listening to the "coin guys" joke about the fools there to buy cardboard after their two hour marathon. This coming from guys paying $10 for a penny ![]() |

I was there but wish I wasn't except for meeting some members. I don't know what retail means in the t206 market but those prices were ridiculous. All the pages had 9 cards and they mostly sold for at least $300. Most of them had a few $10 cards, maybe 2 $30 cards and the rest $20 cards. My max bid was not over $200 on any of the common pages. If I lived closer I would have gone home and got my cards to sell
![]() It was a 10' X10" room with about 40 people in it. Maybe they couldn't see what was being sold. Thank God for Ebay and the BST. |

What is funny is that the prices were super high but there were a good number of people bidding. I say funny because I set up at a local show last month with about 150 T206's for half of the price that was paid at this auction and most people just walked right past the table.

I expected to be able to pick up some bargains, but that wasn't the case. Some of the common lots went for double my max, and I think most of the singles went for at least two to three times my max. |
