I know it's a beater, but it's the best one I'll ever own. I called the auction house and asked if other cards from the auction were part of the 'soapbox' group and they are looking into it. Meanwhile, I smelled the inside of the box and the other five cards I won smelled like it, so I guess the question is answered.
"the card was discovered within a group that was put away during the 1930s (the original box in which all were housed is being offered with this card)."
