Firstly I do love to watch what comes on the show, however I feel the show is highly set-up. Most pawn shops will only offer you about 10% of what somethings worth. So it makes me laugh when they say "oh well I would sell this for $500 so I will offer you $300"

Secondly, has Drew ever pulled anything else out of that briefcase? What else is in there? A sleeve of saltines?

Highly staged. Remember when Chumley just happened to see Bob Dylan walking the strip, and got the Album cover signed (for re-sale, per Rick's direction). He had it personalized "to Chumley"... as if we are to believe the guy is really that dumb.

These are character portrayals just like any non-reality sitcom. It's all for entertainment value, and the prices they apparently pay for goods have nothing to do with "reality". No real pawn shop operates that way, but it's still fun to watch.

I remember that episode. Very true, Perezfan. I don't watch it any more. The novelty is over. I only watch it on the History channel website when I want to watch Drew Max and his hubble-sized magnifying glass.

I don't watch much of Pawn Stars anymore either, but usually try to check it out when there's anything sports related. So I watched the other night.

HOLY SHIT!!! I was completely in awe when Mary Ford's nephew brought in that SG Les Paul and those documents... However, I believe that it had to be staged. There is absolutely NO WAY that dude should've ever been in a pawn shop with those.
