The Matty and Cobb are large oil on canvas paintings that I purchased from a local sports bar that closed a few years back.....I think they were commissioned by the owner in the late '80's. Maybe someday in the future I can get back into painting.....I'd love that.

This painting of Ryan is EXQUISITE. Painting must have been your livelihood and only focus at one time because someone who paints this well can't be doing it just as a hobby. It is truly lifelike

Truly coincidental...

A 16 year old young lady (whom I have the honor to call my sweet daughter),
has turned her art talent towards the Baseball World.

Bryanna, has just recently been viewing some of my cards. I showed her a few! I asked her if she thought if she could paint or draw any of them?

Without me asking, she found a picture of Lou Gehrig on the net and this is what she did in an afternoon.

A Photo and a Scan of Lou...

She is Presently working on a few others, an E95 & a Boston Garter Matty. Her work is Just getting better & Better!!!

Scott and Rich.....Thanks again for the comments on my work. Rich, I painted the Ryan in my spare time in '99, well before my wife and kids were a part of my now busy life. Art's always just been a hobby for me and I never considered it a viable option to pay the bills. Thanks.........Matt

These are the drawings I did for a card 15 card set Negro league historian Gary Ashwill and I recently did in conjunction with the family of Hall of Famer Pete Hill. Best part about the set for me was illustrating all the different uniforms from the many teams Hill played for in his long career...

I have been working on watercolor renditions of the entire T206 set.

Completed the first one nine years ago and that's as far as I've gotten

My Christmas present to myself (with the lovely wife's permission) a few years ago. From a Scott Gaynor ebay auction.

The sketch is 13 X 19.
